Ionic Nano Copper™ (INC)
What is Ionic Copper™?
A proprietary ion-based antimicrobial solution. INC works at the ionic level: copper ions bind to microorganisms, halting metabolism & reproduction, then naturally degrades — providing long-lasting bacteriostatic and algicidal effects.
Scientific backing: 420% higher ionization vs copper sulphate; NSF/ANSI 60 certified; Health Canada PMRA & USEPA registered; CSIR verified; GRAS (FDA safe-list).
Key advantages
- Controls algae, bacteria, fungi and viruses
- Improves taste, odour & colour
- Reduces chlorine & filtration costs
- No synthetic chemicals or toxic by-products
- Works in sunlight, hot climates, and anaerobic conditions
- Safe for people, animals & ecosystems
Mode of action & dosing
INC releases ionic copper that attaches to microorganisms and disrupts their metabolism. It provides a long-lasting, UV-stable effect and biodegrades naturally without forming harmful by-products.
Typical dosing guidance: Initial: 1 L INC per 30,000 L of wastewater volume. Continuous treatment at the same rate for influent; adjust for more severe conditions. Dosing can be manual or automated.
Proven results — case study
Site: 2.5 ha settling lagoon (Greece), capacity 39M L, influent 378,000 L/day. Results after 6 weeks of INC treatment:
| Parameter | Before | After (6 weeks) | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| BOD | 132.3 mg/L | 9.8 mg/L | ↓ 93% |
| Faecal Coliform | 9,255 CFU/100ml | 0 CFU/100ml | ↓ 100% |
| TSS | 61 mg/L | 6.2 mg/L | ↓ 90% |
| Ammonia | 45 ppm | 10 ppm | ↓ 78% |
Municipal trial (Ethekwini, Magabheni) also reported >50% COD reduction, 86% reduction in suspended solids, significant ammonia reductions and rapid elimination of algae & odour within 2 weeks.
